GHIC and MITRE Launch Strategic Partnership
March 8, 2022
Global Health Investment Corporation has launched a strategic collaboration with the MITRE Corporation to foster the shared goals of strengthening global health security and advancing innovation in the development of medical countermeasures and other relevant technologies.
Through this partnership, MITRE will provide analysis and evaluation of medical countermeasure technologies, leveraging its objective insights and deep technical expertise across multiple domains, and funding to enable GHIC to expand mission-aligned investment activities. GHIC will utilize MITRE funding, alongside funding provided to GHIC by BARDA, to make investments in eligible companies designed to accelerate the development and introduction of technologies and medical products to respond to or prevent global public health emergencies and other health security threats.
As a not-for-profit organization, MITRE works in the public interest across federal, state, and local governments, as well as industry and academia. To advance their mission of solving problems for a safer world, MITRE operates six federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs), engages in public-private partnerships, and conducts independent research.
