GHIC Receives $100 million from BARDA toward Project NextGen goals

The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), part of the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has awarded GHIC $100 million of Project NextGen funding for venture capital investments in companies developing innovative platform and enabling technologies in vaccines, therapeutics, and biomanufacturing.
This award leverages the 10-year public-private partnership established between GHIC and BARDA Ventures to accelerate the development of medical countermeasures that address gaps in global health security. With the additional funding provided by Project NextGen, alongside existing and future BARDA Ventures funding, GHIC will continue to expand the investment portfolio and support the ecosystem of entrepreneurs and innovators developing next-generation medical countermeasures.
